Youth Development League

The Youth Development League (YDL) is a national competition providing young athletes with the opportunity to compete in a structured league format against other clubs. The league is designed to help develop athletes through regular competition, covering a wide range of track and field events.
City of Portsmouth AC competes in the YDL Lower Age Group (U13 & U15) and YDL Upper Age Group (U17 & U20), giving athletes the chance to represent the club in a competitive but supportive environment. Our YDL Upper Age Group team, is a composite team with athletes from Winchester.

Why Compete in the YDL?
-
Experience high-quality competition against other clubs.
-
Develop skills across a variety of track and field disciplines.
-
Earn points for the club and contribute to overall team success.
-
Gain valuable competition experience to support future progression.
Who can take part?
YDL is open to club members in the U13, U15, U17, and U20 age groups. Athletes are selected to compete based on performance, commitment, and availability. All abilities are encouraged to take part, and there are opportunities for both A & B string athletes, as well as a limited number of non-scoring competitors to gain experience.
